Location Based Services

Want to know where your customers are? Or your customers to know where they can find you? Then LBS is the solution for you.
What
Location Based Services use the customer’s location on the mobile phone network to offer services or information. With LBS, you can develop new solutions that add value to your services and allow you to generate extra revenue.
Your benefits
- Generate extra revenue:
LBS allows you to communicate with and offer services to your customers based on their current geographic location. - Strengthen ties with your customers:
With LBS, you make sure that customers receive information and services when and WHERE they want, which significantly expands your service offering. - Enhance your image:
By being seen to use the latest technologies, you will significantly enhance the image of your brand and company. - Simple management:
We not only provide a high-quality technical platform, but also the invoicing solution to ensure that invoicing your customers becomes a breeze.
Practically speaking
You can take care of your own development for all your LBS-services, or you can consult a third party to do the development for you. If requested, we’ll assist you in finding the right partner.
The LBS services are connected to the Proximus Location Enabling Service (or LES) via a fixed line (i.e.: leased line, BILAN or Proximus Internet Tunneling).
Examples
Location Based Services can be either active or passive:
- Active solutions:
The initiave comes from the user. He or she will send a request (i.e. per text message) to request more information about services in his/her immediate vicinity. - Passive solutions:
The initiative comes from the application itself. Users pre-register to receive certain information each time he/she is near a point of interest. I.e. users that opted to receive book deals will receive promotions when they are near their favorite book store.
Examples are:
- information services (find the nearest gas station, ATM, etc.)
- advertising (couponing, catalogues, etc.)
- games
- chat services
- security-related services
- community services (i.e. buddy finder)
- corporate services (i.e. track&trace for trucks or delivery vans, etc.)
